Meet Allen and Carolyn Brunson
ABC Creations strives to provide quality goods for fair prices, using American ingredients. We are a small business out of Granite Falls, NC.
My name is Allen Brunson and my wife is Carolyn. I started our candle business back in 2012. I was dealing with a back injury, and very limited in the things I was able to do. With a lot of free time on my hands, and not much disposable income, I thought it would be interesting to learn to make candles for my wife.
She has always loved candles, but the big name stores had great candles along with great big prices. You could find cheaper candles out there, but it quickly became obvious why they were cheaper. I thought if I could make candles for her, it would have to be cheaper and I could control the quality.
Fast forward through a longer learning curve than I expected, we went through a lot of “trial” candles. Some were good, some weren’t, but all were learning experiences. After about a year, things fell into place and the quality met our expectations. Making candles is hard to do in small quantities, and we quickly ended up with more candles than we could use ourselves. We began to give them as gifts, and people started requesting different fragrances. As our stockpile grew larger, and the response from friends and family grew, we began to sell at festivals and ABC Creations of NC was born. Our logo is a couples monogram of our names, Allen and Carolyn Brunson.
As people requested new fragrances, we have always tried to make them, so our selection has grown consistently over the last seven years. Our first festival we had six different scents, and at our last festival of the 2019 season we had 99 to choose from. Our focus is always on quality and customer service, so please give us a try and let us know what you think.
